Sponsorship is a heartwarming and immediate way to connect to someone across the globe and be key to their development.
As a sponsor, your donation directly helps provide food, lodging, clothing, and medical care for 455 women and children! The person you sponsor is your "ambassador", representing all of Shechen’s children and nuns who benefit equally from your gift.
In appreciation for the opportunities your generosity provides, each year they will send a photo and written letter to you.
SPONSOR A CHILD IN NEPAL
Three hundred and ten boys, aged 4 to 14, live in the school's hostel in Nepal, where they are cared for and educated. Most of them come from remote impoverished villages with no accessible schools.
At Shechen, they have the unique opportunity to attend Shechen School where they learn traditional Buddhist teachings alongside math, science, and practical skills, and earn an accredited high school diploma.
They receive an education that honors their heritage while preparing them for whatever path they choose.
SPONSOR A GIRL OR WOMAN IN BHUTAN
Support Women in the Dharma! When you sponsor a Shechen nun you give a young woman or girl in Bhutan the opportunity to receive an education and pursue a spiritual life.
One hundred and forty-four nuns live, practice meditation, and are educated in two Shechen nunneries, a college, and retreat center. At Shechen, women and girls are taught self-respect, independence, and an education equal to that of their male counterparts in Nepal.
